Watch out for play patterns.
These are often valuable clues as to what’s happening in your or your fave pro’s head. Also note the context in which these dropped shots or 3 putts happen.

Example:Langer's 35ft putt on the Par5 14th at Carnoustie Day 3 British Senior Open presented by Mastercard. He had just hit a magnificent shot to land on the green in two. His 35ft putt went by the hole and kept going and he missed the putt back.

He didn't notice any loss of concentration but does the context help explain the blimp on a good round.

He was 1 stroke ahead of Corey Pavin and a chance to go 2 further ahead. Danger of forcing?

He was still feeling pleased about his 2nd shot. Possible interference with information gathering?

Extra adrenaline?

All of which added to the tendency to over hit the shot and perhaps not quite read the pace properly.

Solution: mind clear between strokes

Are you missing certain length putts?
Could be a lack of trust making a situation a lot worse.

Problems first few holes?
Lack of adequate preparation or trying too hard to make an impression.

Having problems getting up and down when in trouble off the greens?
Deep breathing techniques will help rid your mind of emotional debris then focus on the target .

There are many more. Monitor your game for a short while and see what patterns apply to you.
